Presented by:
Dr. Parker-Katz is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Special Education at the University of Illinois-Chicago and coordinator of the master's programs and clinical experiences. Her research and teaching focus on urban teacher learning for educating students with disabilities, and especially the nexus of equity, building genuine collaboration amongst educators and enhancing inclusionary practices. Additionally, she focuses on ways teachers can improve post-high school transition outcomes for students with disabilities through collaborative networks with families and community. She is an active scholar in securing a range of national grant funding and research publication and presentation. She is the Co-Director of Project SET: Seamless and Effective Transition.

Dr. Cushing is an Associate Professor in Special Education at the University of Illinois-Chicago. Her research and teaching interests focus on increasing the quality of life for individuals with significant and multiple disabilities through the improvement of educational, social and behavioral outcomes in inclusive secondary and postsecondary settings. She teaches graduate courses that include instructional methods and transition for youth and young adults with disabilities. Her scholarly interests include the inclusion of students with significant disabilities in middle, high school and postsecondary settings, peer-mediated supports, and transition from school. She is the Principal Investigator and director of Project SET: Seamless and Effective Transition.
