AA#2016-01 Social Science Revisions

RATIONALE:
The revision of Social Science offerings:

  *   Respond to a need for up-to-date curriculum that helps students develop strong critical thinking and analytical skills;
  *   Revise and streamline the Social Science curriculum for the B.A. in Social Science, including simplification of program structure and related courses;
  *   Create an undergraduate minor in Sociology and Anthropology available to all undergraduate students, and retire related minors in Anthropology, Sociology, and Sociology/Anthropology applicable to the Baccalaureate program in Elementary Education and minor in Social Science applicable to Applied Behavioral Sciences and Applied Communications Baccalaureate programs.
  *   Revise and retitle the undergraduate concentration in Public Policy to Urban and Policy Studies to more accurately reflect the nature of the program. The concentration remains available to the students in Applied Behavioral Science B.A., Business Administration B.A., Health Care Leadership B.S., Management B.S., and Management Information Systems B.S. degree programs.
