NLU's Susan Thorne-Devin, LCSW and Claudia Pitts, Ph.D., wrote 15 tips on avoiding tension and promoting peace at Thanksgiving, even if family members hold opposing political views.
"Chicago Tonight," has invited Thorne-Devin to appear on tonight's show (7 PM on WTTW Channel 11) to discuss "Tips to Prevent the Election Results from Spoiling Your Family's Thanksgiving." Pitts was interviewed on this topic for the Chicago Tribune for an article expected to appear in the next few days.

Also, Toby Rajput will appear as a guest on "Good Day Chicago" on WFLD Channel 32 to recommend books that gift-givers may want to give to the children in their lives. The show is tentatively scheduled to air on Thanksgiving Day. Although technology has a valuable place in learning, these books encourage children to interact with their parents and caregivers in the real world in imaginative ways, practicing socio-emotional and interpersonal skills.
