Please be advised that our Chicago campus is located within proximity of the Cubs Parade being held on Friday, November 4, 2016. NLU's Chicago campus will be open for regular business and classes will be held as scheduled. Please allow extra time if you will be traveling to the Chicago campus.

Employees should consult with their supervisor if they wish to work from a different campus location on Friday, November, 4.

The City of Chicago has released the following parade details:

The team will leave Wrigley Field at 10 a.m. and travel to the start of the parade route, at Michigan Avenue and Oak Street, at 11 a.m.

The parade will travel along Michigan Avenue between Oak St. and Ohio St. and then along Columbus Dr. between Monroe St. and Balbo Ave. Fans who want to catch the downtown parade are encouraged to see them along this route.

Fans are encouraged to view the parade at the following locations:

  * Addison from Sheffield to Pine Grove
  * North Michigan Avenue from Oak St. to Ohio St.
  * Columbus Dr. from Monroe St. to Balbo Ave.

Then, the team will arrive at Hutchison Field in Grant Park around noon.

The public should expect street closures surrounding the parade route starting as early as Friday at 4 am. The city did not detail the closures or the times.

CTA will be <http://www.transitchicago.com./> adding buses and trains <http://www.transitchicago.com/> to help people reach the parade routes, but the transit authority warned fans "to allow plenty of travel time due to street closures, traffic congestion and reroutes." Riders should also fill up their Ventra cards before heading to their nearby "L" station, where the lines could be long.

Metra<https://metrarail.com/about-metra/newsroom/metra-provides-tips-travel-cubs-rally> is also adding service Friday, and offering a $5 unlimited ride ticket for the parade day. Details about service and schedule changes on each line will be posted on Metra's website. Schedules are subject to change, so customers should check the website before traveling.
