AA#2015-31 Updated Gen Ed Requirements for NCE UG Programs
DECISION: This Academic Alert impacts the Undergraduate Programs in the National College of Education: Early Childhood Education (ECE), Early Childhood Practice (ECP), Elementary Education (ELE), and Special Education (SPED) in the following areas:
Admission Classification/Testing Requirements
General Education Requirements
Time Limitations on Coursework

RATIONALE: In collaboration with National College of Education Undergraduate Program Coordinators, the Interim Program Director of General Education, and the General Education Task Force, the following changes have been agreed upon:

  *   Change of the pre-licensure program from B.A. Liberal Arts to B.A. Social Science
  *   Revision of General Education Requirements for NCE Undergraduate Programs
  *   Implementation of professional coursework time limitation
  *   Addition of COMPASS Assessment Requirement
