AA#2015-14 Expansion of Criminal Justice Minor
RATIONALE: This minor was originally developed for undergraduate students in accelerated programs, who have completed the major, but need several additional electives and/or several required general education courses in the life science and quantitative studies area to complete the 180 QH for the degree. NLU enrollment representatives indicate there is strong demand by prospective students for a criminal justice coursework, and the U.S. Department of Labor forecasts job growth of up to 35 percent in several criminal justice careers.


National College of Education (NCE)

AA#2015-15 MAT SEC ARC and AC Elimination
RATIONALE: The elimination of the MAT Alternative Route to Certification (ARC) and Alternative Certification (AC) results from Illinois State Board of Education policy to no longer permit institutions of higher education to admit students into these alternative programs after September 1 of 2014. Those who were admitted on or before September 1, 2014 must complete their coursework before January 1, 2016 and be entitled to certification on or before September 30, 2016.

AA#2015-16 MAT SPE AC Elimination
RATIONALE: The elimination of the MAT Alternative Certification (AC) results from Illinois State Board of Education policy to no longer permit institutions of higher education to admit students into this alternative program after September 1 of 2014. Those who were admitted on or before September 1, 2014 must complete their coursework before January 1, 2016 and be entitled to certification on or before September 30, 2016.
