University Community members looking to expand upon their Art Institute visit are invited to stop by the Chicago campus for the 2017 Racial Justice in Praxis Conference on Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20.
The Racial Justice in Praxis conference is an opportunity for participants to collaborate and innovate with others seeking to end racial injustice, and understand the ways in which it has manifested for people of color. The conference will host voices from communities, individuals, and organizations, working towards new approaches for confronting racial injustice.
Through planned discussions, collaborative workshops and roundtables, panel discussions, and our art exhibition, we will provide the space for honest dialogue and action planning. Friday's opening includes an art exhibition, food, drink, a performance by the incredible young artist Sam Trump, Capoeira, and much more. Saturday events include breakout sessions and a music composition workshop.
