Dear Faculty and Staff,

NLU is seeking student nominations for the 2015-2016 Student Lincoln Laureate. Annually, an undergraduate senior from each of the four-year degree-granting institutions in Illinois is chosen to receive the prestigious Lincoln Academy Student Laureate Award. The student will be selected through a committee made up of both NLU faculty and staff. The selected recipient will represent National Louis University at one of the most distinguished gatherings in the state, the Annual Student Laureate Award Ceremony. The ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2015, in the Hall of Representatives, Old State Capitol, Springfield, Illinois. NLU nominees should have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and should have demonstrated leadership in extra-curricular activities. To be considered, a student must be an undergraduate senior graduating from NLU during the 2015-2016 school year.

To apply, nominees must submit the following materials:

Personal Statement: Please write a personal statement explaining how your experiences and achievements make you a candidate for Student Laureate. Include a brief biological sketch including work experience, involvement, other awards received, and life situations which have shaped you. Please include your Name, NLU Student ID number, Home Campus, and Contact Information (Mailing Address, Phone Number and Email Address)

Letter of Reference: A candidate must submit one written reference on his/her behalf. This letter should be written by someone who has personal knowledge of the students' academic and/or extracurricular experiences.

Submission of Application Materials: Complete personal statement and letter(s) of reference should be submitted to [log in to unmask] by October 5, 2015 (5:00pm).
